Your app has been published to the app stores. Now you're ready to start making changes to the app and pushing these to the app's users.

1. How to update your app

  1. Select the Publish tab.

  2. Click Publish in the top right corner

  3. We validate your app to make sure all required information is available. For example, you might additional keys if you have added some specific new blocks, for example Twitter or User authentication.

  4. Choose the app store you want to publish to.

  5. If your app is already available in the app store and you have made some small content changes. In that case the screen above can look like this:

2. How to force a store update

In some cases you'll need to force a store update. This can be the case when we've fixed a bug in our platform and the store version needs to be updated to make the fix available in your app.

  1. Select the Publish tab.

  2. Click Publish in the top right corner

  3. We validate your app to make sure all required information is available.

  4. Select the app stores you want to force a store update for:

  5. Then, make sure you ENABLE the "Force a stopre update" option at the bottom of the publish modal:

  6. You'll know you're going to submit a store update when the expected publishing time changes from 5 minutes to 1-3 days:

After starting the process it'll usually take somewhere between 1-3 hours before the new app versions are created.

3. Content vs. Store Updates

When you update your app, AppMachine will submit either a Content Update or a Store Update. Which update is submitted depends on the changes that you have made to the app since its last update.

Content Updates:

  • Include the most basic updates to your app's design and content

  • Available within 5 minutes

Store Updates:

  • Required for changes to the app icon, the store screenshots or to the store information.

  • Required if the app now includes a block that was not available in the AppMachine platform at the time of the last store update

  • Required to fix bugs in the code

  • Store Updates take 2-3 business days for both Android and iOS apps.

App Updates are included in your app subscription and can be triggered as long as you have an active subscription.

As you may already know, the store update process for iOS apps is automatic. But for Google you need to manually submit the new app file once the publishing process has finished: .
