Adding the Photos building block

  1. Click on + block.

  2. Select the Photos block and click Add this block.

  3. Choose the data source for your photos:

    • Manual: upload photos directly to the AppMachine CMS.

    • Flickr: enter the account username. (1500 photo maximum)

    • Instagram: enter the account URL that you want to display in the app.

  4. Click Continue.

  5. Fill in the name of the block.

  6. Click on the icon if you want to change the image used in the menu.

  7. When you’re done, click Add this Block.

Adding Photos to your block

  1. Under the Data tab, click on + Add New Item

  2. Add your Photo, Name, and Description (and optionally an External Image URL) and click Save.

When adding a photo in this screen, you can choose photos from Pexels, Upload your own image, or use an image you've previously used in the app.

  3. Repeat this process until you've added all of your photos.

Configuring the Photos building block

The Photos building block editor is composed of three editing screens; Data, Settings, and Design.

The settings in the Settings editing screen determine how your block will function, Data allows you maintain the content of the block, and the settings in the Design screen determine its aesthetics.

Settings

There are several aspects of your "Photos" block that can be changed in this screen; the name of the block, and the icon (or image) that will be used in the app menu. You can also choose whether you'd like the users to be able to share the events via Twitter, Facebook, or email.

Photo View allows you to change the way the photos are displayed in the block.

By toggling the Show Albums option the block will show a menu with the albums as they are grouped in flickr. If you don't select this option, all photos will appear in a single screen without album distinction.

Should the need arise to keep the users of your published app from using this portion of the app, then you can always make use of the Activated sliding selector.

Slide the selector to OFF to keep users from seeing the Photos block. Now you can continue developing your app without worrying about users coming upon areas that you haven't finished developing as of yet. Once you are satisfied with your progress, slide the selector back to ON to publish this portion of your app.

List

This is where you add the the questions and answers to your list.

Design

The Design screen allows your to make highly detailed changes to your building block. Design gives the developer a remarkable amount of freedom to adjust everything exactly as he or she would like it.

FAQ
