On some occasions it may be necessary to force a store update for the Android version of your app. Whether that reason is a new Android OS version that is being released, a bug fix being released by the AppMachine developers, or because you feel it's been too long since your last update, it's good to know that forcing a store update to the Google Play Store can be done quickly and easily.

To force a store update for Android, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the blue Publish button at the top right of your screen.

  2. Enable the Force a store update toggle.

  3. Make sure only Google Play Store has a blue checkmark in front (deselect this forced store update for Apple unless you'd like a forced store update for Apple as well).

  4. Click the Publish Now button in the bottom right corner of the wizard.

  5. A new build will be triggered that will take approximately 1-2 hours to complete.

  6. Go back to Appmachine after those 1-2 hours click Download in the Google Play Store tile.

  7. Click the Download AAB button

  8. Once the build is complete Open the and login with the right developer account

  9. in the left side menu find the option Release > Production

  10. To create a new release, click Create new release in the top-right corner

  11. Open a Finder on your Mac machine and look for an AAB file with a name which looks like this

  12. Drag and drop the AAB.file onto the screen in de App Bundle area, or by using the Upload button displayed on the page. On Mac devices, you cannot use the Upload button If you cannot find the AAB file on your computer, you can always download it again from the publish page A name for the release will automatically be filled in.

  13. Scroll down to manually enter some Release notes

  14. Save your changes in the bottom-right corner of the screen

  15. Click Review release in bottom right corner.

  16. Review the new version and click Start rollout to Production to release the app into the Google Play Store.

  17. Roll out to production

  18. Your app is now in review

  19. In case the app is rejected -or suspended as Google calls it- you will receive an email notification from Google on the owner email address of your Google Play developer account explaining why the app was suspended and what needs to be changed. The time it takes Google to review is generally anywhere between 1-3 days, depending on the amount of apps that have been submitted to Google.
